Coupled, Uncoupled

The truly coupled human being,

‘coupled-for-life,’ is in for a shock,

unless he is the first to die.

Such a person uncoupled becomes

aware, in strange new ways, 

of space. A mental amputee,

He is not all there to occupy places:

Aware of missing a part of life,

he is both dead and sensible.
