Lying Low

Some of my friends are firm believers

in keeping their lain heads down,

lying, lying, lying low,

saying nothing about things far away

and beyond their ken, 

not looking.

This is a school of thought not wrong

when nothing can or will be done;

for it’s true: not every fight is yours.

However, in the case of The USA

vs Justice, Humanity, Order, Good Sense,

and when all of us pay for what goes wrong,

it behooves us to take a side.
