Lying Low

Some of my friends are firm believers

in keeping their lion heads down,

lying, lying, lying low,

saying nothing about things far away

beyond their ken, especially not looking.

This is a school of thought not wrong

when nothing can or will be done;

for it’s true: not every fight is yours.

However, in the case of The USA

against Justice, Humanity, Order, Good Sense,

and when all of us pay for what goes wrong,

it behooves to share opposition.
