Cleaning The Ceiling

Hi Heloise,

I was glad to see you endorsed that reader that used a mop to clean her ceiling. Although you and she both use mops, I prefer scaffolding. Make a platform within a couple of feet of the ceiling. Then, take a ground mat for comfort, a toothbrush and a bottle of your favorite all-purpose cleaner and go to work in maximum comfort. Needless to say I wear goggles and a mask. I know some readers will say this is over the top (you’re not painting the Sistine Chapel, etc.), but I say: if you’re going to do a job, why not do it right? 

P.S. I suspect that, like me, most people enjoying your column are senior citizens. Don’t you often wonder why we never found the time to tackle these challenges in our youth? I certainly do.
