Fuddy Duddy
I’m reading a book about World War I
that’s making me feel like a fuddy duddy—
you know, one of those daft old men
who are ignorant of nearly everything other
than two or three of their own obsessions,
Established in a few unfathomable facts,
like the sinking of the Lusitania. Cold.
Or 360,000 on one side! 280 on the other!
in a matter of weeks, many frozen!
Now that’s cold too! I say,
That’s History, if you can believe it.
It’s written right here in this here book
designed to create more fuddy duddies.
