Heidi And MS
My daughter suffered an MS attack
during Covid and was hospitalized.
Only one visitor could go in to see her,
so my wife went, more knowledgeably.
However, the room was at ground level,
and I found it, walking around outside,
where I waved and waited until two doctors
came in and drove off both my wife and me.
They were there to draw spinal fluid,
one, an intern in training.
Heidi gave a thumbs-up as I left,
but I couldn’t smile back, just wave—
she was alone with two men and a needle.
It made me reflect, both then and now,
what a hearty creature she has always been:
the baby, the girl, the woman, the soul,
she has always been irrepressible!
