Heidi And Multiple Sclerosis

My daughter suffered an MS attack 

during the Covid pandemic.

Only one visitor could go in to see her,

so Carolyn went,

but the room was at ground level,

and walking around outside, I found it,

and watched and waved until two doctors

came in and drove us both away:

no inside or outside visitors then.

(They were there to draw spinal fluid,

one of them, in training.)

Heidi gave me a thumbs-up as I left,

but I couldn’t smile, only wave,

as she was left with two men and a needle.

This is the way she has always been,

as a baby, a girl, a woman, a spirit!

She has always been irrepressible!
