Don’t Listen To Me

Don’t listen to me, I have to say,

I change my mind so often.

I almost said ‘too often’ but didn’t—

that would have been wrong:

So often. So often.

I change my mind so very often

you really shouldn’t be paying attention,

unless it’s to keep an open mind to irrelevance,

and you’re willing to say you might be wrong,

and probably are, indeed and therefore,

moreover and even indubitably, 

are going about like a butterfly

no more intelligent than a caterpillar.
