Stolen Kiss In A Dream

In a dream my old woman sat in a sleigh

or other contraption, like the infrared sauna

I sweat in. She was obscured by sheets

that surrounded her, body and head,

loosely, not touching,

but I knew she was there,

and knew very well she was mad at me.

I approached laughing, demanding a kiss,

for I knew the way in, reminding her

of her parents’ rule: never go to bed angry.

I parted the sheets and she laughed as well.

And as for the kiss, she gave it.
